A boutique accounting firm in Perth’s north has been announced as a state winner for a prestigious accounting award, with the use of innovative process bots helping them claim the gong.
Ultimate Tax & Advisory been awarded the WA Practice of the Year in the 2026 Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) Member Awards.
As one of three major peak bodies for accounting across Australia, this award carries significant weight in the industry.
Ultimate Tax & Advisory Managing Director Bobby Serval said the award came as a shock.
“Winning this award is a big surprise for our small firm, and we are absolutely thrilled,” he said.
“We were recognised us for a strong commitment to professionalism, client service, and excellence within the accounting profession.
“As part of our award submission, we talked about how we started 10 years ago, our growth and our commitment to using technology to help us do that, along with investing in our staff.”
Ultimate Tax & Advisory developed Robotic Process Automation (RPA) bots for repetitive tasks in early 2026. So far, they have saved approximately 30 hours a month across their team.
After the successful implementation earlier this year, these have now been replicated across other departments.
“We love being innovative and finding ways to save time on repetitive tasks, meaning we can better use our staff for to complete other higher-level analytical tasks, and produce a better result for clients,” Mr Serval said.
“We’re proud to be pushing the envelope in accounting and being a forward-thinking firm which puts customer service at the forefront for mum and dad businesses like ours.”
The firm will now progress to the selection process for the national IPA awards announced soon.
